The Stones Will Cry Out

September 17th, 2026

The Stones Will Cry Out explores the beauty of nature through the study of a single stone surrounded by grass. This is a long-form generative art piece created to be drawn by a pen plotter. Through the creation of one set of coded instructions, an endless variety of drawings can be produced. Each scene is controlled by several parameters including camera angle, lighting, terrain, and wind. The stones are rendered using three different drawing techniques and a variety of backgrounds are selected to frame the scene.

Below is a gallery of 50 selections from the algorithm. These are screen-based renderings that simulate a final plotted result.

These editions are On Sale at Etsy in my brand new shop.
