Running Shoes

In Progress

In February of 2025 I started running. At first I tracked my runs using my watch and Google Maps to measure distance. After a few months I started using the Nike Run Club app and that really helped me develop some longer runs with fun music and built in pep talks. In a few more months I decided to invest in a proper running watch - the Coros Pace 3. This meant that I had my running records spread across three different sources: my original spreadsheet, the NRC app and the Coros app.

It was a bit tricky to export my Nike data since they don't make it directly accessible. Luckily someone clever and nice shared their open source data exporter that makes it possible to extract the data. Coros has an online portal that supports data export, which is one of the reasons I chose the watch. I now use the Coros App exclusively and have a monthly routine set up to export the data and run it through a process to create a beautiful report. It's really helped me as a motivational tool to put in the miles!
